Dual Degree Pathways

California InterContinental University offers dual degree pathways, providing qualified students with more opportunities to further their education. A dual degree pathway offers students the benefit of saving tuition costs and students have the option of completing one project/dissertation for both programs.

MBA TO DBA DUAL DEGREE PATHWAY: 105 units
This dual degree pathway program is available to students who have completed their bachelor's degree in business administration or relevant majors with a 3.5 GPA or better. The dual program requires successful completion of 105 semester units comprising of combinations of MBA and DBA courses. Graduates of this dual degree pathway will be awarded a Master of Business Administration degree and a Doctor of Business Administration degree. Dual MBA and DBA degrees may be completed in 3 to 4 years.

Degree Requirements
Students will be required to complete

  • 21 units of MBA Required Courses
  • 15 units of MBA Emphasis Courses
  • 30 units of DBA Required Courses
  • 15 units of DBA Emphasis Courses
  • The remaining 24 units are earned by successfully completing the master’s and doctoral capstone project / dissertation

BBA TO D BA DEGREE PATHWAY: 96 units
Students who have successfully completed the BBA program may choose to enroll in the DBA program. Following the BBA to DBA pathway requires satisfactory completion of 96 units of course study. Graduates of this dual degree pathway will be awarded only the Doctoral degree.

  • 36 units of MBA Required Courses
  • 30 units of DBA Required Courses
  • 15 units of DBA Emphasis Courses

Approval for enrolling in a dual degree pathway program is made by the Office of Academic Affairs based on applicant's scholarship ability, time availability, organizational skills, professional, and academic goals.
