CalUniversity Announces Up to $500,000 worth of Scholarship Awards in 2008 to Qualified Students

Diamond Bar, California, January 03, 2008

California University of Technology CEO Senthil Kumar announces today the award of up to $500,000 worth of Scholarship and Fellowships to qualified students starting this January. With an ever increasing number of students seeking online degree programs, CalUniversity seeks to broaden the appeal even further by announcing a scholarship program for the 2008 academic year.

Mr. Kumar states “Although the widespread acceptance and convenience of an online degree are well suited for working professionals, high tuition costs still create affordability barriers for many students. We realize that the majority of potential graduate students do not work for large corporations that can foot their educational bill. With the CalUniversity scholarship, highly motivated students can earn an MBA or Doctorate with lower initial investment in their education endeavor.”

CalUniversity’s educational programs are designed for working professionals. It is one of the first institutions in the world to offer a Professional Doctorate in Healthcare Leadership and Management. By utilizing proprietary technology for educational content delivery for administration of degree programs, CalUniversity has eliminated a major barrier to a graduate degree by making its tuition very affordable. This should come at no surprise considering that CalUniversity is the brainchild of global internet entrepreneur Senthil Kumar.

Mr. Kumar states, “It is somewhat ironic that use and adoption of technology in online education has not really brought the cost down. So you still have students that cannot afford a quality college education. I wanted to create an online institution based on the principle that a quality education should be attainable for everyone, anywhere and at anytime."

In addition to one of the most affordable degree programs, CalUniversity also offers students with year-round enrollment, regular affordable tuition rates with term payment options. Some of the online degree program highlights also include: short six week terms, tuition starting at $180 per unit, dual degree pathways, and self paced educational options. “It’s hard to balance a job and graduate school and then you have the financial burden on top of everything else. One of the main goals of CalUniversity is to provide an exceptional educational program with affordable tuition combined with a flexible delivery method. This allows me to work full time and still work on my doctoral degree,” states Brian Lee, a CalUniversity doctoral student and Vice President of Business Operations.

Students may apply for the scholarship by calling 866-OUR-CALU / 909-396-6090 and requesting an application or by visiting www.CalUniverity.edu
