How we Assess Student Learning and Academic Achievement
Plus / minus letter grades (A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, etc.) are used for undergraduate, certificate, and graduate programs to fairly and objectively assess student learning and academic achievement. They are recorded in official transcripts and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The grading system adopted by California Intercontinental University is listed in course syllabi and is as follow:

Course retakes are billed at the current tuition rate, are subject to the Course Retake Policy under the following conditions:
- A graduate student who received a “C+” grade (and below) must repeat the course to earn a better grade.
- An undergraduate student who received a “D-” grade may request to repeat the course.
- All students must retake required courses in which an “F” grade was received.
- Students may retake a course but must be in compliance with SAP.
Grade Point Average (GPA): Total Grade Points Earned/Total Units Attempted for Grades. The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the recording of official grades into students’ official academic records or transcripts and the release of term grades to students, upon request.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
